Isobel Ross has ensured a stable quinella for Australia’s leading trainer, Grant Dixon, in Race 10 at Albion Park.
Ross rated $14 roughie, Im The Commando (3) perfectly in front, so well stablemate, Lavros Texas and Grant Dixon (who trailed), could only get within a head of them at the line.
The 5-year-old Cr Commando gelding trotted the 2,138m mobile off the front in 2:42.8 (mile rate 2:02.5) with sectionals: 31.2, 30.2, 29.4, and 28.2.
Im The Commando has now won eight of his 52 starts and banked just on $60,000. Three of those wins have come this season.
The bay is owned by GSM Racing and was bred by Bev Williamson of OAMARU, NZ.
