Lola Weidemann and Kid Montana have made a mess of their nine opponents in Race 2 at Albion Park. The brilliant Queensland horsewoman, who trains and drives the 5-year-old, stole the race at the 400m.
That’s when she let the son of Rock N Roll Heaven have his head – and in the twinkling of an eye, they had spaced them. Kid Montana maintained a strong pace to the line winning by 7.1m.
The $1.90 favourite paced the 1,660m mobile in 1:54.9 which equated to a 1:51.4 mile rate. Sectionals: 26.4, 29, 28.5, and 27.7.
It was the brown gelding’s 25th win in 68 starts and took his stake earnings to near $130,000.
Kid Montana is owned by the Shepherdson, Dick, and Drysdale families. He was bred by James Moore.
