Nine races down and the NSW raid at Albion Park has continued with Craig Cross and Leonard Cain winning their fourth race – this time in the coveted Group Three $21k Pryde’s Easifeed Trotters Cup.
It was also the fourth win in seven starts for the 4m winner, Galleons Victory (6), who tonight was cut loose at the 550m by Cain, and then left a gap in his opposition swinging for home.
He trotted the 2,647m stand off the front in 3:20.1 (mile rate 2:01.7). Sectionals: 31.1, 30.6, 28.4, and 28.9.
Galleons Victory is owned by the Hackett and Barron families and was bred by Gary Allen.
The 6-year-old Muscle Mass gelding has now won 13 of his 59 starts and almost $140,000. Eight of those triumphs have come this season.
He was the $5 second favourite.
